Season 1: Expanse

Adrena's second trading competition. A 10 weeks long competition, first one of the recurring trading seasons. Starting February 1st and ending April 12th.

Protocol's reserve the right to tweak slightly Mutagen distributed during our continuous monitoring process. Balancing is not an easy task, and although we did backtest on the data we got since we went live in September, it might not cover all cases. If we are to find some "game breaking" activity, we would step in to patch the issue.

Adrena's first full scale trading championship, the Expanse. Trade and climb the ranks to claim the throne and mark history as Adrena's first champion. Farm the daily and weekly quests for locking in some flat Mutagen rewards that will not only serve you to climb the ladder but also for the future Adrena Airdrop. Streaks, Mutagens & Mutations, Achievements with exclusive titles, size multipliers... Mutagen is an elusive resource that can only be generated through trading activity or through season mechanisms such as quests and streaks. Accumulate it through leverage trading to rank up in the upcoming season and also to earn shares the upcoming $ADX airdrop. Mutagens will start accruing on February 1st for the Season ranking, but will also be back generated for all your trading activity before that date (but counting for the airdrop only).

Design

This event was designed to include as many traders as possible (Size doesn’t matter 😉).

There will be a weekly ranking that will generate championship points based on the rank. The rank is based on the mutagens earned that week (positions have to be opened and closed in this week). You will move up and down the leaderboards depending on how you compare to other traders.

Mutagen will be used as the qualitative attribute this time (instead of PnL in the previous season).

Why Mutagen? - points are much easier to tune, leaving some room for tweaks, than a raw value like PnL. Can reward not only performance but also (slightly) trading related activity. - can work toward the future airdrop. Mutagens will accrue this seasons affecting the ranking on the leaderboard, they will also accrue on your profile for the multi-season spanning airdrop.

Mutagen accrual will be mainly tied to trading volume: you'll get mutagens for specific trading actions, and based on the volume at close (or liquidation) you'll receive a multiplier on these. Some reward will be flat and volume agnostic, in order to also reward active participation to the platform (specifically for the airdrop). The total trading volume is calculated by adding 'open position', 'increase position', and 'close position' values.

Trade volume for the competition is only counted for trades that have CLOSED. Positions that are held open will not count towards your division or rank in the competition.

e.g. If you are ranked 50th in the week, you would get 15 championship points.

e.g. If you open a $100k position and close it your total trading volume would be $200k.

Quests, Mutagens and Final (close) Size multipliers

Mutagens distribution is designed around rewarding trading on the platform. Each trade will accrue mutagens, based of several factor: duration, PnL, mutations... At the close event (close or liquidation), the total score of that trade will be multiplied by the "size multiplier" to determine the final point value of a trade.

Final Size multipliers:

• $10-$1k size: 0.00025x to 0.05x

• $1k-$5k size: 0.05x to 1x

• $5k-$50k size: 1x to 5x

• $50k-$100k size: 5x to 9x

• $100k-$250k size: 9x to 17.5x

• $250k-$500k size: 17.5x to 25x

• $500k-$1M size: 25x to 30x

• $1M-$4.5M: 30x to 45x

Now these size multiplier will affect any mutagen amount generated during a position life, except when the mutagen generated are specifically marked as "Flat reward".

Below are the criterion that will generate mutagens (called Quests in the UI).

1 - Perpetual quests - Accrue mutagens on any position

PnL Volume ratio (PnL / Volume * 100) based -> rewards performance. Capped

• 0.1-7.5%: 0.01-0.3 mutagens

Duration based -> incentivize OI and Borrow fees

• 10s-72h -> 0-0.05 mutagens

2 - Static quests & daily random Mutations

4 static quests

• daily - do 3 trades - 0.25 mutagens "Flat reward"

• daily - open a short and long trades with at least 25x leverage - 0.25 mutagens "Flat reward"

• Weekly - have 50% win-rate on at least 50 trades - 2 mutagens "Flat reward"

• Weekly - reach 1M volume - 2 mutagens "Flat reward"

2 random daily Mutations

Each day, 2 mutation will be affecting the mutagens generated that day. The daily mutation are selected randomly. Goal is to create a meta for the day. The mutation points add up to the trading points generated by the position which will be multiplied by the final size multiplier.

• Frenzy - 0.015 bonus mutagens per trader

• Corruption - 0.02 bonus mutagens per x50+ leveraged trade

• Madness - 0.03 bonus mutagens per x80+ leveraged trade

• Celerity - 0.015 bonus mutagens for a trade that lived less than 5 minutes

• Tempo - 0.02 bonus mutagens for a trade that lived more than 30 minutes

• Growth - 0.015 mutagens per 0.1% positive PnL Volume ratio (capped to 0.04 mutagens)

• Regeneration - 0.001 mutagens per 0.1% negative PnL Volume ratio (capped to 0.015 mutagens)

• Telepathy - 0.015 bonus mutagens if SL/TP has been triggered for the trade

3 - Streaks -> DAU increase + reward all participants regardless of volume

• trade daily => 0.1 mutagens per day

• trade for seven consecutive days=> 1 mutagen per occurence (on top of the 0.7 mutagens already for dailies)

• trade for 30 consecutive days => 2 mutagens per occurence (on top of the 3 + 4 mutagens already for dailies + weeklies)

Note: one trade per day (closed/liquidated) qualifies you.

4 - Achievements

Note that achievements are not directly tied to a season, but new achievements are introduced during seasons.

Achievement are way to keep track of your tradings adventures and show off in your trader profiles with exclusive title that only the worthiest traders will unlock. They also grant mutagens (all "Flat reward")
